Does it work for consultants and freelancers, not just trades?
Yes. The construction features — CIS and reverse charge — are optional and off unless you switch them on. Underneath it is straightforward quoting and invoicing that suits consultants, designers, developers and any service business.
Can I invoice by the hour or by the day?
Each line has a quantity, a unit and a unit price, so you can bill 7.5 hours at an hourly rate, three days at a day rate, or a single fixed fee — whatever fits the arrangement.
What happens after my five free invoices?
Quotes and customers stay unlimited, and everything you've already created stays available. To issue a sixth invoice you upgrade to Starter at £9.99 a month or £99 a year, and you can cancel whenever you like.
